Hosting of the Eurogroup for Animals' Equine Working Group in Athens

We are thrilled and proud to have hosted the Eurogroup for Animals' Equine Working Group https://www.eurogroupforanimals.org/ in Athens. It was a huge challenge, but we decided to take it on so as to proudly celebrate our ten years of operation.

The meetings held were outstanding and represent an important step in our shared efforts to protect and promote the welfare of equines across Europe, the policies for their protection, and the future strategies for their support in Europe. The collaboration and exchange of ideas have strengthened our commitment to ensuring a better and more humane treatment of equines.

On the first day of our meetings, we had the opportunity to present, in collaboration with the organization A Promise to Animals, the true state of the situation for equines in Greece, highlighting the lack of institutional framework, the opacity and impunity, and the need for a national prevention and protection strategy.

We would like to express our heartfelt thanks to everyone for their invaluable support. To A promise to animals https://www.apromisetoanimals.org/eng for their unique support, to Holly Lama  https://holyllama.gr/en/home/  who provided our vegan meals and whose generous contribution made it possible to implement our initiative and achieve our goals.

To the Hellenic Equestrian Federation https://hef.gr/index.php/en/  which hosted our second day's meeting at the Olympic Center. Their support was indispensable and crucial to the success of our efforts.

We sincerely thank the whole team for their invaluable cooperation, and we look forward to continuing our joint actions to improve the lives of equines.
