All equines when they are not working they are hobbled and tied up without shelter or water. Exactly as we do with tools we don’t need any more we store them until next use.
At Livadaki beach, a very famous and inaccessible area, a dead donkey was found with its legs tied up together in total decomposition. Maybe this poor animal was looking for water and couldn’t walk or someone got rid of it. Something very common with tools that are no longer useful.
We filed a written complaint to the competent authorities on the above equine abuse at the island of Folegandros. Since the incorporation of equine registration and identification in Greece it is a matter of time that equines won’t get killed when not needed from the “boss”.
